The John C. Conover Agency Announces Blood Drive

Asbury Park, NJ, April 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The John C. Conover Agency is looking forward to hosting an American Red Cross blood drive at the Asbury Park Municipal Center. The drive will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 12:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Travis Newarski, blood drive coordinator explains why he set this up, "It's an easy way we can all help our communities that doesn't cost anything but has a real effect on people's lives. I donate blood because I know that volunteer blood donations save lives."

Anyone who is interested in donating blood to the Red Cross is welcome. Appointments can be made by calling Travis Newarski: 973-985-5032. Donors must be healthy, least 17 years old, and weigh at least 110 pounds.

First-time donors should bring their driver's license or two other forms of identification with them, as well as a list of any medications they are currently taking. Those who have donated before should bring their donor card. After checking in, each donor will receive a mini-physical, which consists of answering questions during a private and confidential interview as well as having temperature, hemoglobin, blood pressure, and pulse checked. Following the donation process, donors can spend a few minutes enjoying refreshments while their bodies adjust.

Each gift of blood can help up to three people.
