Cleo Of Lily - A Lifestyle Company
Cleo of Lily ~ A lifestyle company launches their natural hair and skincare line. Manufacturing personal care items that include real handmade soaps, hair conditioners and pet care.
Phenix City, AL, April 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Launched just last week, Cleo of Lily “A Lifestyle Company” is one of only two natural skincare manufactures in the Columbus area. Family owned and operated for over 8 years. “We’ve just recently relocated our business in this area and we’re excited about the changes,” said Ms. Cleo Anderson. Coming here to be in an environment where the natural hair movement in black women is becoming more acceptable in every circle of life. Cleo of Lily is making the educating of black women about their natural hair, a priority. They are dedicated to connecting with parents so they can educate them about the care and treatment of their daughters' natural hair as well as their own. “We want to show them some alternative ways of caring for these Kinky, Curly, natural tresses, while staying away from Chemical relaxers,” said one of the employees in this family business. They’ve started a campaign called “The Edge Pledge Campaign” which began April 1, 2012. “Not only do we want to teach parents a variety of techniques and styles that they can use at home on their daughters' natural hair, we also want to educate black women about Traction Alopecia and how to avoid bald edges,” said another employee for Cleo of Lily.
The Edge Pledge Campaign is set to become one of the biggest movements in recent years, promoting natural hair growth in black women. “We want to take this issue to the streets and expose the results of chemical use in the black hair community,” said the owner of Cleo of Lily. Tiara Chappell has natural hair and has been using Cleo of Lily natural hair and skincare since the beginning. “I love my natural hair and want other women to embrace their natural beauty too.” The goal is to plan natural hair and skin workshops for members in the community, where they can empower, inspire and encourage the use of more natural ingredient based products said Tiara Chappell. The workshops will be conducted by the owner and formulator of the Cleo of Lily line of natural hair and skincare. Providing step by step demonstrations of healthy styling and maintenance for healthy hair. With an emphasis on curly and kinky textured hair. Parents are invited to bring their daughters so that each one of them learns to love their hair and embrace the beauty that is natural.
The Edge Pledge Campaign, was born out of the frustration felt by Ms. Cleo Anderson when she took her daughter to school one morning and noticed a little girl with an enflamed scalp. Not only was she in tears and trying to call her mother at home, but the school secretary made no effort to ask her about her red, enflamed and pussing scalp issue. Feeling saddened and angry, she asked the little girl if she was okay and was told, "I feel sick." Not wanting to offend the little girl, she refrained from asking her about her serious scalp issue. But promised herself she would go home and find a way to reach moms and their daughters and help promote a healthier way of hair maintenance. The Edge Pledge is that Campaign.
