Astronaut Story Musgrave to Give Talk on “How to Design a Life for Yourself, One Step at a Time”
Story Musgrave, a NASA Astronaut for more than 30 years, will speak on “How to Design a Life for Yourself, One Step at a Time,” at the NC Triangle Chapter of WTS International, annual scholarship and awards gala on April 25 at Raleigh’s Cardinal Club.
Raleigh, NC, April 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The NC Triangle Chapter of WTS International will host their annual scholarship and award gala on April 25 at Raleigh’s Cardinal Club. The theme of the evening – “A Night of New Horizons” – has been inspired by featured speaker Astronaut Story Musgrave. Mr. Musgrave, a NASA Astronaut for more than 30 years, will speak on “How to Design a Life for Yourself, One Step at a Time.”
About Story Musgrave
Story Musgrave was a NASA astronaut for over 30 years and flew on six spaceflights. He performed the first shuttle spacewalk on Challenger's first flight, was a pilot on an astronomy mission, conducted two classified DOD missions, was the lead spacewalker on the Hubble Telescope repair mission, and on his last flight he operated an electronic chip manufacturing satellite on Columbia. Story started flying with the Marines during the Korean Conflict, and over the next 55 years accumulated 18,000 hours in over 160 aircraft. He is a parachutist with over 800 free falls. He has 7 graduate degrees in math, computers, chemistry, medicine, physiology, literature and psychology. He has been awarded 20 honorary doctorates. He was a part-time trauma surgeon during his 30 year astronaut career.
