To combat childhood hunger and poverty, the Junior League of Greater Orlando will host Bubbles and Boutiques, a fashion show charity event at Citrus on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Johnny Magic of XL 106.7 will welcome guests and kick off the event.

Guests will sip champagne as local celebrity stylists piece together the latest fashions for a runway show at award-winning Citrus, voted the restaurant that says Orlando best in Orlando Magazine’s 2011 dining awards. Mixing the old with the new, styles from the Mall at Millenia and favorite local boutiques will sashay down the runway alongside pieces from the Bargain Box. “Join us for a night of fun and fashion to benefit JLGO’s core cause: childhood health, hunger, and poverty,” says President Allison Hudson. “And remember that spring cleaning is the perfect time to donate to the Bargain Box. We accept clothing as well as furniture and home goods.” Bargain Box is located at 503 North Virginia Avenue, Winter Park, Florida, 32789. Store hours are from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday.

The Bargain Box celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, and the retailer has been selling gently used merchandise at discounted prices to members of the Central Florida community to benefit JLGO community programs such as Kids in the Kitchen and HIP (Healthy, Informed, Playful) Kids. The Bargain Box regularly provides assistance to many organizations such as Harbor House, Christian Family Services, and The Salvation Army. Approximately $72,000 of merchandise has been donated since 2008. For example, Bargain Box donated $1,200 in formal wear and coats for an Orlando high school group whose members attended the Presidential Inauguration and $1,500 in prom dresses during the Cinderella’s Closet charity event.

Junior League of Greater Orlando’s Bargain Box Fashion Show will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2012 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Citrus. Tickets include appetizers and champagne. Tickets for the event may be purchased for $35 per person on JLGO’s website www.jlgo.org or by calling (407) 422-5918.
