New Connector Road Has Connection to Local Community Pillar
Bartow, FL, April 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On April 3, 2012 the Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to pass a proclamation naming the Bartow Northern Connector Road, Ernest M. Smith Boulevard. In keeping with the name of the existing road, the Board honored Mr. Smith for his service in the community.
Michael Craig, Polk County Attorney, asserted “Polk County appreciates Ernest M. Smith for operating his business with Trust, Integrity and Honesty, and is proud to have Bartow Ford located in Polk County.”
Melony Bell, Polk County Commissioner of District 2, made the motion to accept the proclamation to the Board at the April 3rd Commissioner’s meeting, where it was voted upon and proclaimed.
“It gives me great pleasure and honor this morning to be able to present a proclamation to make sure the Bartow Connector Road continues to be named after Ernest Smith,” Ms. Bell announced.
The proclamation was accepted by Benjamin Robles Sr., Chairman and President of Bartow Ford Company, on behalf of Ernest Smith and his family.
“Mr. Smith has been a servant to the Polk County community and a great business man,” stated Mr. Robles. “This is a great honor for them to recognize him, by naming the road after him.”
Bartow Ford Company was founded by Ernest Smith and is brothers, Paul and Virgil, in April 1948 and celebrated its 64th year anniversary on April 1st.
