Los Angeles, CA, May 30, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Let the fun begin - redneck punk 'n' roll is on its way to global domination. Texas-based Junior unleashes its down-home, power chord slice of life "Are We Famous Yet?" (Toucan Cove/Universal Republic) on June 5, 2007.
Capturing the wild musical ride that already has international reputation, AWFY? features the single "What Was I Thinking," "She's So Amazing" (co-written by Grammy-nominated Bowling for Soup's Jaret Reddick) and an honorable cover of the Poison classic "Talk Dirty To Me."
While the album title reflects the tongue-in-cheek sense of humor you'll find throughout each track, it also tells a little about the band. With a myopic (and slightly naïve) self-reliance, lead singer/songwriter Kiley Bland embodied the DIY philosophy, arranging for production, international touring, media relations and even music supervision (music licensed to sports outlets and action sports movies). Drummer Steve Cox and bassist Adam Hoffoss uphold the professionalism behind-the-scenes as well, logging in hours of vocal exercising and rehearsals each week. The work has paid off.
By that virtue and on the music's strength, Junior recently signed with Union Entertainment Group for management. UEG is home to charting, touring and award-winning artists such as Nickelback, Default, Red, Candlebox and Cinderella.
In the meantime, Junior's legendary live show is the road, invited to bills with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Unwritten Law and Reel Big Fish, as well as headlining across the South all summer. Having performed with Bowling for Soup, All-American Rejects, Everclear, Saving Jane, Lifehouse on the Vans Warped Tour, and with multiple sold-out shows at both the 2006 and 2007 SXSW Music Festival, Junior's penchant for hi-energy, interactive concerts keeps them on stage by demand.
