JFK Novelist Divulges Oswald’s Motivation in Radio Interview
Author L.D.C. Fitzgerald recently appeared on The Core Business Show with Tim Jacquet to discuss the novel, “Destination Dealey: Countdown to the Kennedy Conspiracy.”
Pompton Plains, NJ, April 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- L.D.C. Fitzgerald was interviewed on The Core Business Show to promote new novel, "Destination Dealey: Countdown to the Kennedy Conspiracy." The narrative describes a fictional conspiracy to assassinate President John F. Kennedy in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, on November 22, 1963. During the interview, the author talked about Lee Harvey Oswald’s motivation for being involved in the Kennedy Assassination. “You have to understand that Oswald was a malcontent, a loner, and a person who wanted recognition or even notoriety. Even if that meant he would be jailed or killed.”
Oswald was murdered by nightclub owner Jack Ruby two days after the JFK assassination. The shooting was inadvertently broadcast on live television as Oswald was being transferred from police headquarters to county jail.
Fitzgerald went on to explain how Oswald had forsaken Capitalism and embraced Marxism, going to the extreme length of renouncing his American citizenship and defecting to the Soviet Union. Fitzgerald continued, “Oswald wanted to be remembered by history. This is a man who, upon returning to the US after defecting to Russia, expected to be greeted by a press conference. He even went so far as drafting imaginary questions from reporters, and crafting possible answers. And, prior to the Kennedy assassination, he made another attempt on a political figure in Dallas. In April of 1963, Oswald shot at Edwin Walker, an army general known for his ultra-conservative political views.”
During the show, the host asked why Oswald would marry a Russian citizen, Marina Oswald. Fitzgerald responded, “In my opinion, this is another aspect of his quest for notoriety. He wanted to be recognized for being different. He wanted people to say, ‘Here is a guy who defected to Russia and embraced Soviet life so fully, he married a young Russian woman.’”
