Las Vegas, NV, April 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Dr Grow It All will be joining local green-minded businesses and organizations at the third annual GREENFest Earth Day festival at Town Square on April 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. GREENFest is a free event and attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about living a sustainable lifestyle.
At GREENFest, Dr Grow It All will have experts on-hand to discuss your organic fertilizer requirements, and you will also have the chance to win a $100 gift card.
Other activities offered at GREENFest include live music and performances by Recycled Percussion, a kid’s zone learning experience, Recycled Wear fashion show, art contest and exhibit, green vendors, food samplings, a farmer’s market, recycling exhibit, free recycling collection, interactive energy and water conservation displays and activities for adults and children of all ages.
“As a local manufacturer of organic liquid fertilizer, we are delighted to be a part of this local festival that supports sustainable communities,” commented Dr Grow It All CEO, Dave Lovegrove.
Attendees can kick start their sustainable lifestyle by dropping off their recyclables, bringing their household or workplace recyclable items, electronic waste and pharmaceutical waste. Acceptable recyclables include paper, cardboard, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, newspapers, plastics, aluminum, steel cans and glass. Onsite document shredding also will be available.
For the younger attendees, in addition to a children’s coloring experience there will be several interactive displays on hand including a large recycling exhibit of baled recyclables by Republic Services. MRFY, Republic Services’ recycling robot mascot, will be at the event along with the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s mascot, Deputy Drip. At NV Energy’s “Renewable Generations” trailer the NV Energy mascot, The Bot, will be hosting a meet and greet.
Students in the Fashion Design program at the Southwest Career Tech Academy will be featuring for the first time a Recycled Wear fashion show, a special project using recycled materials to create real fashion as a teachable display that one person’s trash is another person’s garment.
GREENFest was founded in 2010 by Republic Services of Southern Nevada and the Nevada Energy Star Partners Green Alliance. Republic Services, Inc. provides recycling and solid waste collection, transfer and disposal services in the United States and Puerto Rico for commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers.
