NY Entrepreneur Week Returns with Ground Breaking Entrepreneur Walk Hosted by Fox News’ Amilya Antonetti "We Are Not the 1%. We Are Not the 99%. We Are the Difference."

Entrepreneur Week (EW) is a global platform that acts as a catalyst to support entrepreneurs on all aspects of the business lifecycle. Seasoned and aspiring entrepreneurs, thought leaders and early-stage investors attend EW events in order to learn, share and grow into better business owners. More than an organization, EW is a movement dedicated to breaking down silos among business owners, government entities, educators and the media to support and nurture entrepreneurship on a global scale.

New York, NY, April 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- What happens when hundreds of New York business owners, investors, government officials and aspiring entrepreneurs stand up and come together? New York Entrepreneur Week (NYEW) --the largest inclusive gathering of entrepreneurs in New York. Now in its third year, the weeklong experience, which has expanded onto four continents, hosts events designed to equip budding and current entrepreneurs with the necessary business skills, insights, tools and new connections to become more effective leaders and business owners. NYEW is being held April 16-20, 2012 in lower Manhattan and additional venues around the city.

“Entrepreneurs are not the 1% or the 99% --we are passionate job creators, risk takers and innovators,” said Entrepreneur Week Founder Gary Whitehill. “We’re not just walking for ourselves, we’re walking to remind America that entrepreneurship is the foundation of this country, and what will ultimately bring us together and save our economy.”

According to the SBA, small businesses with less than 100 employees represent 99% of all employers and create between 60-80% of new jobs in the US. In New York state, small business payrolls total $120.6 billion or 28% of the state’s total payroll.

“The time has come to show a more accurate picture of entrepreneurship. Main Street, Wall Street and Pennsylvania Avenue need to see We Are the American Dream,” said serial entrepreneur and FOX News Small Business Voice Amilya Antonetti. “I walk for that dream and for entrepreneurs everywhere. Walk with us to keep the American Dream alive.”

This year, NYEW inaugurates Entrepreneur Walk, the first ever charity walk to celebrate entrepreneurship. Held on Wednesday, April 18 at 5pm, Entrepreneur Walk is being hosted by Fox News’ Amilya Antonetti and is designed to unite business owners beyond the boardroom, the storefront, the laptop or the factory floor. Entrepreneur Walk provides business owners, their employees, and supporters of the American Dream, the chance to be unified and be counted as the real job creators of the US economy. Each participating “walker” is generously underwritten by Entrepreneur Week’s lead corporate sponsors, including: American Airlines, Bing, Dell, Deloitte, Silicon Valley Bank, Singularity University, and also through private donations. Profits from the walk will be equally distributed among New York Tech Meetup, Enstitute and HackNY - three outstanding NYC organizations that support entrepreneurship.

“For Dell, promoting and nurturing entrepreneurship is an extension of our culture,” said Brant Gonzalez of Dell Marketing. “We strongly believe in the mission of Entrepreneur Week and the Entrepreneur Walk because entrepreneurial success is tightly tied to global economic recovery. We’re committed to doing our part to aid to in their success.”
