Superior Grocers and Unilever Have Joined Together to Donate $38,000 to Support Schools & Education

Los Angeles, CA, April 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Superior Grocers, one of Southern California’s largest independent supermarket chains, and Unilever, have joined together to donate $38,000 to 38 local schools. Through its new “Superior for Education” Program, Superior and Unilever have created a strong partnership that supports the local community and Education.

The selected 38 schools will receive $1,000 each and school representatives will attend a ceremony on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10am. The event will take place at the Superior Grocers’ Whittier store located at 1201 W. Whittier Blvd, Montebello, CA 90640.

“Superior for Education is about making that special connection with local communities throughout Southern California. Schools are selected depending on their proximity to our 38 store locations. We are very excited to join forces with Unilever on this new program,” said Phil Lawrence, Chief Operating Officer of Superior Grocers. This program will run throughout the year and thousands of dollars are expected to be awarded to many Southern California schools.
