Baltimore’s Best Tea House Opens Second Location

Teavolve Comes to Harbor East in Summer 2007

Baltimore, MD, June 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- With the success of Teavolve’s 2005 venture in historic Fells Point, proprietors Sunni Gilliam & Del Powell will expand their business this summer to a ground-floor space in The Eden Apartments. Under the name Teavolve Café and Lounge, it will be twice the size of the first tea house, offering a greater selection of tea ware and tea accessories; and a larger selection of loose leaf teas. Teas that will be available include single estate, organic and fair trade teas. The opening will also mark the launch of Teavolve’s own private label teas.

The cafe will blend the same mix of healthy tea infused beverages, retail, gourmet food and desserts, education and entertainment. Gilliam will continue to host tea tastings and seminars. The store’s fare and entertainment will come from vendors and talent within the community. Monthly art receptions will be held for local artists to showcase their work, and smoke-free live music performances from area singer/songwriter will add a soothing environment for residents to enjoy.

The food menu will expand to include organic, gluten-free, and sugar-free items from local vendors. And if tea just isn’t your thing, Teavolve Café and Lounge will be offering coffee and coffee drinks, wine, beer and tea-infused martinis. It will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as desserts for the after-movie crowd.

“I’m thrilled to be opening another teahouse so more of the community and visitors to Baltimore can experience the positive aspects of tea and have a place to come and relax,” said owner Sunni Gilliam
