Local Bar and Restaurant Enthusiasts Announce Philly Food Blog
Philadelphians Janeane Tolomeo and Sel Kandula announce Philly-ism.com, a unique guide to the area's best restaurants and bars.
Philadelphia, PA, April 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Philadelphia natives Janeane Tolomeo and Sel Kandula today announced the launch of their food blog, Philly-ism.com. The project - aptly named after the duo’s desire to capture the most unique food spots throughout the city - features a variety of reviews, terminology, and advice for enjoyable Philadelphia dining.
For the founders, Philly-ism came about naturally from their own personal passions. “We are pretty much obsessed with eating, drinking, and the city of Philadelphia,” says Janeane Tolomeo. “Our goal is to go everywhere and try everything, and then do it again. Philly-ism posts tell you everything you need to know about a place to have the absolute best experience.”
Among Philly-ism’s first few posts are an array of local experiences including a write up about Top Chef Kevin Sbraga’s new location, cheeses and meats from Di Bruno Brothers, sushi from Umai Umai, and pizza from Zavino. New posts appear on the blog weekly, coupled with a quick culinary lesson they’ve dubbed “foodisms.” The combination makes for an interesting look at not only the taste of food, but also the secrets behind it.
“We encourage people to reach out to us if they are looking for a recommendation about where to go,” says Sel. “It’s like a fun food challenge for us and we always get back to people in a few hours. The more details you give us, the better!”
In order to drive the community to participate, Philly-ism has developed a presence on multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare. Maiden Media Group, a digital experience agency in Old City, provided custom designs and site development for the project across all media.
