New York, NY, April 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Madlyn Gleich Primoff, a partner in Kaye Scholer’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice has recently been recognized for her contributions to the legal profession and commitment to empowering women as business leaders by two organizations.

Primoff is one of just eight women in the nation to be named a finalist for the 2012 Americas Women in Business Law- Insolvency & Restructuring Awards. Sponsored by Euromoney’s Legal Media Group, award finalists are selected for their professional accomplishments, advocacy and influence in their field of law. The final winners will be announced on May 24th.

Primoff was also recently appointed by Cornell University President David J. Skorton to the President’s Council of Cornell Women. As a new council member, Primoff has been selected to join the highly accomplished alumnae group with a mission to enhance the involvement of female students, faculty, staff, and alumnae as leaders within the university and its many communities.

“I am honored to join this highly esteemed council, which strives to build greater comradery among Cornell women and strengthen their role within the university,” said Primoff. “With more than 25 years of experience in representing global financial institutions in many well-known bankruptcy and litigation cases, I hope to provide guidance and lead as a mentor to the women of Cornell University.”

The President’s Council of Cornell Women consists of approximately 300 Cornell alumnae, who have achieved a high level of success in their career or avocational activities, and have a commitment to enhancing the role of women affiliated with Cornell, as well as alumnae activities. In addition to offering leadership and role models for other Cornell women, council members advise the President on issues important to Cornell women and help encourage other leading alumnae to do the same. Each spring, the group offers an on-campus forum for female students to meet members and discuss careers and life after Cornell.

“We are excited to have Madlyn join this prestigious group of Cornell women,” said Rob de la Fuente, Director in the Office of Volunteer Programs at Cornell University. “Throughout the years, she has stayed very active within the alumni community, and we look forward to continuing our work together to build a stronger support network for the women of Cornell and enhance their role within the university.”

A partner at Kaye Scholer since 2005, Madlyn Gleich Primoff has 25 years experience representing lending groups, global financial institutions, creditors’ committees, private equity funds and hedge funds in out-of-court bankruptcies, workouts and restructurings, pre-arranged Chapter 11 cases, contentious Chapter 11 cases and related litigation matters.
