The album, Distance, was produced by Tom Treumuth and also features the guitar work of Sean Ashby who was an integral part of Sarah McLaughlin's band for the past 10 years.
Songs include the slow, bluesy “Over And Done With,” a resolute wash-your-hands of-him break-up song; and her cover of Bill Withers’ 1971 classic “Ain’t No Sunshine.” On the title track, “Distance” Melissa's voice displays a soulful anguish and vividly paints a narrative of a boyfriend pulling away. The EP is rich, smoky, impassioned and powerful, a rarity in the present day pop world.
