A Father’s Love Never Fails: Murphy’s Town Published by Outskirts Press
Author Janie Doyle-Mansfield shows there’s nothing a father won’t do for his children. As a returning and wounded Veteran, he finds he must fight a war at home far more challenging than any battle he had to face in Afghanistan.
Port St. Lucie, FL, April 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Novelist Janie Doyle-Mansfield announced today the release of Murphy’s Town, published by Outskirts Press. God, love and family become the essential ingredients of this suspenseful tale about Colonel James Michael Murphy, Jr. who returns home after being wounded in Afghanistan only to find he now must go to unimaginable lengths to secure the safety of his two daughters.
When a recuperating Army colonel returns home from the Middle East to his wife and two teenage daughters, he’s looking forward to making up lost time with his family after his twenty-five years in the service, much of it overseas and away from them. His hometown honors him with a big parade and continuing fanfare, but Colonel Murphy just wants to go home to put his feet up and be with his beloved family.
Upon making it home his wife informs Colonel Murphy of a special weekend she has planned for them so they can begin to plan their future. Three days later tragedy strikes the Murphy home.
Soon Colonel Murphy is back in battle, this time in his hometown, as he sets off on a no-holds-barred mission to solve one of the most horrific crimes he could ever imagine. Nothing in his long military past has come close to preparing him for this mission and no pain from his wounds in Afghanistan can come close to the agony he now feels.
He now must do whatever is necessary to protect his two daughters and keep them from harm. He must solve this horrific and devastating crime. He does exactly that. Tough as it is for him and his girls on this fateful mission, they come through it. However, through it all they realize with God, love and family there is nothing they cannot do. Divine intervention, as they experienced, played a big part in getting justice served. This mystery within itself may never be answered. You will have to be the judge of that.
