PJ Morton is living his dream of music without constraints. As a keyboardist/vocalist for Maroon 5, one of the most musically relevant bands of the 21st century, PJ has the rare opportunity to influence pop culture and perform for millions of fans. As a solo artist signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint, PJ has the ability to express his creativity and be appreciated for his “soulful pop” contribution, a genre he coined when describing his signature sound.
As if Young Money and Maroon 5 were not worlds apart on the melodic spectrum, the New Orleans native also writes for inspirational/gospel artists. In addition to winning Stellar and Dove awards, PJ nabbed a Grammy award for production and songwriting on India Arie’s 2006 celebrated release, “Voyage to India” for the track entitled “Interested”. PJ’s talents also include contributing to several movie scores including the Vince Vaughn comedy “Couple’s Retreat.”
Today PJ is focused on his solo project while he plans to tour with Maroon 5 in summer 2012. He plans to release music over the upcoming year in anticipation for his solo project, “Following My First Mind.”
SOUL LOUNGE USA first established a solid presence in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2008 by promoting and producing a hip, soul, live music event featuring spoken word artist, soul vocalists and bands every Sunday at BB Kings.
