ACT Global Sports Supports Earth Day 2012
Synthetic turf manufacturer donates trees to Carbonfund.org’s Million Tree Challenge for Earth Day 2012.
Austin, TX, April 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As a socially-conscious company, ACT Global Sports is committed to maintaining a sustainable business model and reducing its environmental footprint. This year the company will honor Earth Day 2012 by donating trees to be planted as part of Carbonfund.org’s Million Tree Challenge.
Carbonfund.org launched the Million Tree Challenge on Earth Day 2010, and hopes to reach its goal of one million trees planted by the end of 2012. In celebration of this year’s Earth Day, Carbonfund.org has organized a “three-for-two” promotion, in which the company pledges to plant one tree for every two donated by its CarbonFree® partners. The trees are planted in formal, verified tree-planting projects all over the world.
ACT Global Sports joined the CarbonFree® partner program in 2008. The program allows businesses to calculate, reduce and offset their carbon footprint through regular donations, which are used for reforestation and various clean energy projects.
John Baize, director for ACT Global Sports, said the company is proud to be part of the global, collaborative effort to help Carbonfund.org reach its goal of one million trees. “ACT Global chooses to support companies that can have a positive impact on our environment and society,” said Baize. “Carbonfund.org is an admirable organization and we are pleased to call them a partner.”
The three-for-two promotion is running through the end of April, but interested individuals and businesses can plant trees year round by visiting http://carbonfund.org/offset/trees.
