Dibrugarh, India, April 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Greener Pastures, a responsible tourism venture based in North East India, has made its presence felt in the online world, by launching its website.

Northeast India, compromising of the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura - is a special part of India. The region is considered as an important biodiversity hotspot of the world, and is home to many tribes who live animistic lifestyles that is connected to the elements of nature.

Observing a need to conserve, sustain and promote this richness, two local youths formed Greener Pastures in January 2011. And since then, the organization has received support and encouragement from people throughout the world. In-fact, in just a span of one year, Greener Pastures has already served more than thirty tourists. But is the employment that has been generated for the local communities through this initiative, which gives the founders a reason to cheer, bringing them closer to their dream of a better and greener North East India?

According to one of the founders, the idea is to make sure that the local communities are involved and play a part in a tour. This provides the people a certain pride in what they have, and indirectly it motivates them to start preserving and caring for what they have.

Inspired and motivated by all the support, the company has launched its website at www.thegreenerpastures.com. As of now, the website has about eleven tours on offer, with activities such as rain-forest trekking, mountain hikes, river rafting, wildlife safaris, angling, cultural/tribal tours, tea tours and river cruises. And in the coming few months, there will be many more interesting tours that will be on offer - taking offbeat travel in India to different heights.

The website has a lot of information regarding destinations, along with interactive maps. There is also a gallery where photographs of Northeast India have been promoted. Then, there is a reforestation campaign planned for the near future, which will be initiated in the state of Assam in India, after necessary funds have been raised. More details on this can be found under the "projects" section of their website.

Overall, the future for this young venture looks bright, and as more and more people become aware of Northeast India, there is hope that the unique cultural and natural diversity will survive.
