Vidur Chhabra Explores the Meaning in Apparent Chaos
Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Indian artist, Vidur Chhabra in Altered States of Reality: an Exhibition of Analog and Digital Photography.
New York, NY, April 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- With its depictions of iconic faces, gripping newspaper headlines and controversial imagery, the work of graphic artist Vidur Chhabra highlights the chaos of reality and our precarious position within it. Yet the dialogue beneath speaks to a grand reconciliation — a marriage between the tumultuous forces of the world and the natural order that is the aim of the imagination. Chhabra creates a dynamic culture within his prints by drawing upon the diversity, spirituality and turmoil that colors his native India. With a combination of TV grabs, typography and images, along with his signature neon palette and pop art sensibilities, Chhabra makes sense of the world and breathes life into subject matter that would otherwise register as corporate and cold. This penchant for organizing many different graphic elements carries a message of order and transcendence, making the harshness of the outside world more bearable for anyone who delves into the work.
Vidur Chhabra currently lives and works in New Delhi, India.
