Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage President Kris Vogt to Run 24 Hours Through Sacramento Area to Raise Money for Local Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Kris Vogt, the president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Sacramento-Tahoe region, literally goes the extra mile when it comes to raising money for important causes. A marathon runner, Vogt will be running for 24 hours to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. His goal is to raise $60,000 for LLS.
Sacramento, CA, April 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announced today that Kris Vogt, president of the company’s Sacramento/Tahoe region, will be running for 24 hours May 4-5 through Sacramento, Folsom and Elk Grove as a fundraiser for his Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Man of the Year campaign.
Vogt, an experienced marathon runner, will start his run at 10 a.m. on May 4 at the Sutter Cancer Center Buhler Building located at 2800 L Street in Sacramento. He will make stops at the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Sacramento Metro, Sierra Oaks, Fair Oaks, Roseville, Folsom and Elk Grove offices, and will finish the run at 10 a.m. on May 5 at Silva’s Sheldon Inn located at 9000 Grant Line Road in Elk Grove.
“Some people think I’m crazy to want to run for 24 hours straight,” said Vogt. “The truth is, this is what needs to be done to raise as much awareness – and money – as possible for the members of our community who have been affected by leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers. It’s a marathon of hope that one day there will be a cure and supporting LLS may be the first step in finding it.”
There are three events during the run that the public and media are invited to attend. There will be a starting line reception in classrooms one and two of the Sutter Cancer Center at 9 a.m. on May 4 before Vogt begins his race. On May 4 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., a pizza party will be held at Pronto Pizza located at 299 Iron Point Road in Folsom. Vogt is expected to arrive sometime within the hour. There will also be a finish line celebration at Silva’s Sheldon Inn, which will include a Bloodsource bone marrow donor drive and a fundraiser breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on May 5. Tickets for the breakfast are $35 and can be purchased by calling 916.716.4081. Proceeds benefit LLS.
The public is also invited to run alongside Vogt at any point and for any distance during his run. They may register as a Financial Pacer sponsor by making a $50 donation online at www.krisvogt.com and emailing Vogt at kvogt@cbnorcal.com to sign up.
The annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man, Woman and Student of the Year competition kicked off on March 1 and will run through May 12. As part of his campaign, Vogt has been holding a series of fundraisers to help raise money. Each dollar raised is considered a vote for his campaign. Winners will be announced at the Grand Finale Celebration Gala at The Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel on May 12. The event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased by visiting www.krisvogt.com.
Vogt, an Elk Grove native and graduate of Elk Grove High School, is actively involved in several charitable organizations in the Sacramento community, including Habitat for Humanity, Elk Grove Community Fund, Toys for Tots, Operation: One Warm Coat, Elk Grove Food and Clothes Closet, and more.
