Speakers Set for eCoast Cloud Summit’s Software Development Track
The region's top software developers and architecture specialists will share their expertise in application development and configuration for the cloud computing environment at the upcoming eCoast Cloud Summit being held in Portsmouth, NH on May 11, 2012.
Portsmouth, NH, April 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Some of the region’s top software developers and cloud architecture specialists are poised to share their expertise with attendees at the upcoming 2012 eCoast Cloud Summit, presented by TechWorld, on May 11, 2012. The educational, day-long conference explores the topic of cloud computing and is designed to help attendees understand the cloud and how to leverage it properly to maximize savings and increase profits. The event encompasses two informational tracks: Business & Infrastructure and Software Development.
The Software Development track explores application development and configuration for the cloud environment. Large onsite software installations are quickly becoming a thing of the past as software is increasingly delivered through the cloud and "rented" for low, but ultimately more economical, monthly fees. Track sessions examine software development for the cloud from both a technical and marketing standpoint.
The track kicks off with Jim O’Neil, a developer evangelist with Microsoft. Back by popular demand, O’Neil is a past speaker at eCoast events, including TechWorld 2010 where he spoke to a jam packed audience. In the last year, O’Neil’s focus has been on software development scenarios using cloud computing and Windows Azure.
Following O’Neil, Michael Steifel, principal and founder of Reliable Software, Inc., will present Designing for Failure: Why Cloud Architecture is Different. Steifel is a consultant on software architecture and development and is currently a member of the OASIS Identity in the Cloud Technical Committee.
John Zablocki, a developer advocate with Couchbase, will kick off the track’s afternoon sessions. Zablocki will present on NoSQL and Node.js. The presentation will explore NoSQL databases rise in popularity across a variety of development platforms. Non-relational concepts and NoSQL taxonomies will also be covered. Lastly, Zablocki will introduce development with Couchbase Server 2.0 and managing an EC2-based Couchbase Server cluster.
Following Zablocki, Igor Moochnick, director of Cloud Platforms at BlueMetal Architects, will present Building Responsive Cloud Applications. With over twenty years’ experience building enterprise cross-platform and cross-technology distributed systems, Moochnick will discuss and demonstrate how he helps customers to modernize their applications and infrastructure, to become cloud-ready and to scale them in the private and public clouds.
The track’s final session features Bill Wilder, founder and leader of Boston Azure, the first and oldest Windows Azure user group. An independent consultant, trainer, speaker, and writer, Wilder’s focus is on helping companies succeed in the cloud using the Windows Azure Platform. Wilder is recognized by Microsoft as a Windows Azure MVP and is the author of the upcoming book Cloud Architecture Patterns scheduled to be published by O’Reilly in 2012.
