Salon Ciel Will Highlight Undiscovered and Emerging Filmmakers with the Take Two Film Festival at Theatre 80 St. Marks November 2-4, 2012
Winners at the three-day festival will be awarded with The Manny, live performances by City {On} Fire and the Villalobos Brothers.
New York, NY, April 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Salon Ciel is pleased to announce the launch of the Take Two Film Festival, a three-day festival set for November 2-4, 2012, presented in collaboration with Theater 80 St. Marks, an East Village landmark known for creativity, daring and innovation.
The festival aims to fulfill a need for a major venue that showcases artists who are below the radar of the country’s big-name festivals. Featured films will vary in length and be chosen for their technical quality and imaginative content.
Interested filmmakers can submit their work for festival consideration until May 31st. See http://taketwofilmfestival.wordpress.com/film-makers/ for the application. Film students are encouraged to apply.
For taking the lid off underground films, festival winners will bring home a true piece of New York City: The Manny. Winners in the short film category will also be shown in the Tompkins Square Park Summer Festival.
The festival will include live performances by City {On} Fire and the Villalobos Brothers. Each band will be performing at Gallery Bar on the Lower East Side this summer. Attend their shows to see the trailers of films selected for the Take Two Film Festival and to enter a contest for a chance to meet the bands at the festival in November.
