Mississauga, Canada, May 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Everyday Dialogs book set is to be released on September 9th, 2013.
Bilingual Me Publishing House is a fledgling company with a unique idea and a growing audience. This publisher’s innovative talking-pen book design allows users to listen to bilingual audio of its books by touching an electronic pen to the pages. With a North American audience in mind, these Chinese-language learning materials have been produced for school-aged learners whose parents speak no Mandarin. Zheng, Bilingual Me’s operations manager, is a Chinese-language teacher with training in early childhood education. She developed this approach to encourage children to practice listening and speaking outside the classroom.
Zheng elaborates, "I started teaching children Mandarin in 2006. My students were mostly three-year-olds at that time. In my class, I had students with no Chinese background, students from families whose parents are second generation Chinese, and students adopted from China. They all had one thing in common: their parents didn’t speak Mandarin. I had difficult time finding practical learning materials for them. I wanted something that could help children practice listening and speaking outside the classroom. In 2009 I did a little research on talking pen technology. There were already a lot of products available, but none of them met my needs; I decided to develop my own." Thus, Bilingual Me was born.
After the success of Bilingual Me’s first series, My First Words, Zheng decided to build on her idea. Everyday Dialogs, the newest series offered by the publisher, features common, short sentences in English and Mandarin—including Pinyin. This 16-book series is designed to be used in conjunction with the vocabulary learned in My First Words; with Bilingual Me’s growing list of Chinese-language books, children can gradually learn to read and speak complex sentences.
"The "Everyday Dialogs" is absolutely a great and serious follow up to the "My first Words." The content is wonderful. You repeat the questions with the different answers, so the kids won't get confused. Also, your answers always have a very nice photo, so the kids have a great visual image. I usually start with the photo on the answer side with my young students, and then I repeat the question. One student of mine is only 4 years old, but she is doing great with your 'Everyday Dialogs'." ---- Jenny Wang
Zheng is pleased to have the ability to help increase the educational options available to this multilingual population and expects Everyday Dialogs to be the second of many vocabulary-building series on the Bilingual Me list.
