Grauer School Faculty Member Receives Distinguished YMCA "Service to Youth" Award
Grauer School Teacher, Jessi Young, received the “Irvin C. Chapman Outstanding Service to Youth Award” by the YMCA at the Youth and Government’s 64th annual Model Legislature and Court Conference
Encinitas, CA, May 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Grauer School Teacher and Community Service Coordinator, Jessi Young, received the prestigious “Irvin C. Chapman Outstanding Service to Youth Award” by the YMCA at the Youth and Government’s 64th annual Model Legislature and Court Conference in Sacramento in February. Steve Willmont, President and CEO of Youth and Government as well as past recipient of the award, presented the award to Jessi for demonstrating longstanding dedication and commitment to youth both inside and outside of the program. Jessi teaches both Spanish and History at Grauer School and also serves as the Youth and Government Adviser for the Magdalena Ecke YMCA located in Encinitas.
Jessi remarks, “This award exemplifies the mission of The Grauer School in that our faculty always goes above and beyond the call of duty; it continually inspires me to reach out and impart that philosophy to the students. As members of the faculty, we are all encouraged to host a club, which allows us to share our outside interests and passions with the students and our community. The school has always been supportive of Youth and Government as well as my involvement in it. Grauer students have held the position of President or Vice President for the past six years---the program not only teaches them strong leadership skills, but also fosters all of the core values that make the Grauer School the North County’s most sought after, first-choice educational institution by parents.”
The Grauer School, grades 6 –12, is currently enrolling students in its Summer School sessions during June 25-July 13 and July 16-August 3. The school serves as a successful educational model for hundreds of private schools around the world through the Coalition of Small Preparatory Schools established by Founding Director, Stuart Grauer, Ed.D.
