Kaonetics Technologies Names Hawkins President, COO

Company’s “Directed Energy” Technology Has Security, Military Applications

Fort Worth, TX, May 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Kaonetics Technologies, Inc., which is developing technology for detecting hidden contraband, has appointed Mantford C. Hawkins II of Fort Worth to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer.

Hawkins has been leading the company’s move from Inyokern, Calif., to Fort Worth since he was named Executive Vice President in December. Initially, the company moved its headquarters to Fort Worth, but has since decided to move the entire company. As President and COO, Hawkins will be the decision maker in all operations governing Kaonetics, including managing its move, developing partnerships, commercializing its technology and managing investor relations.

Kaonetics, which has 27 patents either approved or pending, has technology with the potential to penetrate walls, vehicles and other solid objects to detect guns, explosives, drugs, cash and other contraband. It also may be able to detect and stabilize improvised explosive devices (IEDs). In addition, Kaonetics’ circular polarized antenna (CPA) can provide a clear reception in challenging terrain and can also be used for jamming signals.

Before joining Kaonetics, Hawkins served concurrently as CEO of Enoetics, LCC, a high-performance energy reduction company, and as President of The Possibilitarians, LLC, an international consulting firm, both based in Fort Worth.

He is President of the Lone Star Chapter of the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA), and a member of the board of the Private Sector Advisory Council of the Governor of Texas, the Board of Visitors of the Texas Christian University, AddRan College of Liberal Arts, and the Board of Directors of the EARTH-North Texas Sustainable Business Incubator. He is especially active in homeland and infrastructure security issues with the Private Sector Advisory Council.

He is also an active member of the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations and the Dallas and Fort Worth World Affairs Council, and is a frequent speaker on business leadership.

“For Kaonetics’ technology to meet its tremendous potential, we need the best possible management,” according to Chairman Gary J. Graham. ”With Mant on board, we are achieving that goal. He is a proven leader with the experience needed to build Kaonetics into a thriving business.”

Graham added that Hawkins’ military experience and work with the Private Sector Advisory Council are especially important, given the potential Kaonetics has in military, security and law enforcement markets.

Hawkins ended his military career in 2008, while serving as Director of the Office of the Global Combating Terrorism Network and J-5 Director of Strategic Initiatives at the U.S. Special Operations Command in Tampa, Fla., supporting more than 500,000 Department of Defense personnel engaged in the War on Terrorism. Before that, he was Director of the Commander’s Advisory Group and Strategic Adviser to General John Abizaid at the U.S. Central Command in Tampa.

He earned an MBA from Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business, as well as a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Air Force University in Montgomery, Ala., and a master’s in military studies from the U.S. Marine Corps University in Quantico, Va. He earned his bachelor’s degree from The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.
