When southern-born Ashland Miller puts a pen to paper and an acoustic guitar on her knee, a passionate voice unleashes songs that make you laugh, cry, feel inspired, and ultimately want more. Using her experiences on the road to pen a catalogue of songs that had fans singing along from city to city, Ashland toured for twelve years as part of the award-winning acoustic duo CommonbonD, releasing six CD's and performing on Country Music Television (CMT), The Nashville Network (TNN) and in over forty American states as well as overseas. In 2005, Ashland began touring as a solo act until she suffered a debilitating back injury, limiting her ability to travel and perform. Due to the severity of her condition, Ashland had to undergo back surgery in the spring of 2006. Unsure if and when she would be able to resume performing, Ashland began writing more songs during her recovery, and eventually recorded them on her new self-titled solo release. Now recovering nicely, Ashland has resumed performing, although in a more limited capacity. She now performs solo or with her band which includes bassist and Rock Star Productions Co-Owner Robin Elder. When possible Ashland & Robin are joined by percussionist/vocalist Laura Cerulli of SONiA & disappear fear. Ashland's songwriting, harmonies and creative musical arrangements effortlessly erase boundaries between the genres of Country, Folk, Pop, and Rock music. Her amazing voice and signature slide guitar have shared the stage with talent such as John Mayer, Terri Clark, Kyler England, Ritchie Havens, Catie Curtis, Sophie B. Hawkins, and SONiA & disappear fear. When not pleasing audiences with her charismatic live performances, Ashland works closely with her production company (Rock Star Productions) to record and produce her own growing catalogue and solo release, as well as upcoming young talent. Producer and studio musician credits round out her seemingly limitless list of accomplishments.
Not limited to just music and song, Ashland has also been successful with studio voice-over projects. Her most recent work included two seasons of the nationally syndicated PBS series, “Secrets of the Sequence.”
