High-Ranking Microsoft Education Executive to be Keynote Speaker at CAMS Connect, Three Rivers Systems’ 2012 Users Conference
Chief Applications Officer for Education to kick off session at Gold Partner's June user group session.
St. Louis, MO, May 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Microsoft Chief Applications Officer for Education Rob Curtin, one of that company’s highest-ranking education-technology executives, will give the keynote address at Three Rivers Systems Inc.’s annual users conference set for June 11 through 14, in St. Louis.
Three Rivers Systems President and Founder Amir Tajkarimi said Curtin will introduce Student 360:, Microsoft’s model for next-generation teaching and learning.
“Mobile applications and social media are ‘consumerizing’ and personalizing every aspect of society, including higher education,” Tajkarimi said. “No companies are better positioned to address these dramatic changes in how we communicate and educate better than Three Rivers Systems and Microsoft. And no one is better aligned with these trends than Rob Curtin,” he added.
Three Rivers Systems’ CAMS Enterprise is a disruptive technology making it a fundamentally different academic ERP. An easy-to-use and implement, totally integrated, Web-native academic-management system, it has everything one place — admissions; student information; financial aid; student services; fiscal management with HR and payroll; fund-raising and more for managing the entire student life cycle.
Tajkarimi said the CAMS Connect 2012 users conference is a place where the St. Louis-based company’s blue-chip roster of domestic and international clients connects with other world-class academic management practitioners and colleagues. Tajkarimi added that this year's event will focus much of its attention on mobility, business-analytics tools, collaboration and networking.
The agenda covers a broad range of end-user needs regardless of one's level of expertise. Attendees will be able to personalize programs specific to their needs while finding many opportunities to strengthen knowledge, learn best practices and gain valuable insights.
Sessions this year will include discussions of CAMS Enterprise’s unique Degree Audit feature, an efficient student-retention tool; and its Build Your Own Reports feature, another strategic business-analytics tool. Attendees will also learn more about enhancing fundraising with professional marketing tools; streamlining recruitment and application processing; best practices for improving registration and course management; and much more.
Keynote speaker Curtin has been working with technology in education for more than 20 years. Starting with IBM in 1989, he joined Microsoft in 1991, where he managed the IBM re-marketing relationship focusing on providing bundled solutions to education customers. Later he became the featured speaker in a 110-city educational technology seminar sponsored by Microsoft and Compaq.
Curtin joined Exeter Educational Management Systems in 1996 where he led product strategy and market penetration initiatives for Exeter Student Suite as VP of application consulting. In addition to his work with Microsoft's strategic clients in the U.S., Curtin also leads the Microsoft Higher Education Advisory Group.
CAMS Connect 2012 will be held in centrally located Clayton, Mo., just minutes from the airport and downtown St. Louis at the stately and contemporary Crowne Plaza Clayton.
As in past years, the users conference will include an opening day thank-you dinner and an evening entertainment event later in the week — a trip to Busch Stadium to see the MLB 2011 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals take on the Chicago White Sox in inter-league play.
