DynCorp International Again Honored as Veteran-Friendly Employer
DynCorp International again named one of the country’s best veteran-friendly organizations.
Falls Church, VA, May 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The 2012 list of “Best for Vets” employers from Military Times EDGE magazine has again named DynCorp International as one of the leading veteran-friendly organizations in the country. DI ranked ninth on this year’s list.
More than 1,000 companies and government contractors were surveyed by Military Times EDGE, which examined each organization’s recruiting practices, hiring guidelines, salaries, reservist benefits, and veteran social recognition policies. Employers who made the “Best for Vets” list were chosen based primarily on their reservist policies, recruiting programs, and a corporate culture that supported veterans.
According to Cid Standifer, database editor of Military Times EDGE, their list showcases those companies that go over and above in creating policies that support their veteran and military employees. Standifer said that DI was one of 40 organizations that truly walked the walk for veterans.
This was echoed by Steve Gaffney, chairman and CEO of DynCorp International, who stated, “We value the experience former servicemen and women bring to DI, and it enables us to better deliver support solutions to our customers.”
DynCorp International is regularly lauded as a veteran-friendly employer by various outlets. For five consecutive years DI has been ranked as one of the country’s Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers by G.I. Jobs Magazine. The company has also been honored six years running by Vetrepreneur magazine as one of the country’s ten best corporations that partner with veteran-owned businesses.
To provide on-going career opportunities for veterans at DynCorp International, the company participates in various job fairs including those sponsored by the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) and the Air Force Transition Assistance Program (TAP). DI attends and supports other employment events that focus on assisting transitioning veterans including the “Hiring Our Heroes” event sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. DI also sponsors the Service Academy Career Conference (SACC) held four times annually for graduates of all service academies.
