Melville, NY, May 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, May 5, 2012, members of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) NYC/Long Island Chapter will come together for the completion of a community service outreach program, which began in July of last year, benefiting a local family; the Rosa’s, from Selden. Andrew Rosa was 15 years old when he was riding his bike near his home and was struck by a driver, leaving him with severe traumatic brain injury and in a vegetative state. Just in time for summer, they are proud to report that the project has been completed and Andrew will be coming home.

In order for the Rosa’s to bring their son home from the hospital, certain modifications had to be made. The family home could not accommodate Andrew’s lifts and hospital bed; now necessary for him to survive outside of a hospital setting. An extension and universal design bath have been added to the home. At NARI, “we take care of our community members in times of need,” NARI Executive Director, Lesa Dresher, was quoted as saying.

On May 5, 2012, NARI will once again join forces with the Rosa family for a dedication event that will mark Andrew’s triumphant return home. Legislator Tom Muratore, State Assemblyman Dean Murray and Deacon Michael Maroutsis, of St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital, in Bayside, will be in attendance to dedicate and bless the addition to the home. Selden Representative Kathleen Walsh and members of the local Selden Fire Department, of which Andrew was a junior firefighter, will be attending as well.
