Career Step has launched a new Computer Technician training course designed to prepare students for the CompTIA A+ certification exams.

Provo, UT, May 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, a leading online school, has announced the release of its new Computer Technician training course. This program was developed by experienced industry experts and is specifically designed to prepare students for the A+ certification exams offered by the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).

"We are very proud to launch our new Computer Technician program as it is the first Career Step course that prepares students for careers in the rapidly growing, professional technology space," said Career Step COO Mark Thomas, the executive leading program development. "Career Step's expert-designed, online training model lends itself especially well to careers in the technology space, and upon graduation from this new program students will be prepared for CompTIA A+ certification."

Encompassing all of the technical requirements within the CompTIA A+ certification, the new Computer Technician program is divided into distinct sections that prepare students for both the Essentials and Practical Application exams. The first half of the program focuses on helping students develop the knowledge and skills for the Essentials exam, and the second half is based on practical application. Students will learn about hardware, software, networking, security, operating systems, and troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. Upon graduation, students will receive two CompTIA A+ exam vouchers.

The Career Step Computer Technician program includes 230 hours of curriculum and can be completed in as little as three months. With the course’s online format, students can enroll whenever they are ready to start and can study on a schedule and at a pace that fits their individual needs. Students also have access to experienced, certified instructors throughout the course as well as extensive graduate support as they are looking to turn their education into a job after graduation.

Computer technicians fall into the Computer Support Specialists category as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS reports that this field is expected to grow by 18%, or over 110,000 new jobs, between 2010 and 2020 and that professionals in this field earn average annual salaries of over $50,000.
