Style.MyNursery.com Offers Personalized, Custom Artwork
Made-for-you nursery paintings created by a local artist are the latest new product line for a trendy new online boutique.
Chicago, IL, May 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Shoppers of the recently opened e-commerce store, StyleMyNursery, can now design and commission their own custom artwork for playrooms and nurseries. Customers can select everything from painting themes and colors, or have a conversation with an artist directly to discuss ideas and create something from scratch.
StyleMyNursery officially added local artist Mary Gaspar to their team of stylists. Gaspar is a painter who describes her style as bold, colorful and full of whimsy. But her new line and service at the store is anything but whimsical. “When my first daughter was born I started painting again,” says Gaspar who graduated from the University of Illinois with a theatre degree and built an accomplished art portfolio throughout her childhood and undergraduate education. “Over the past several years I’ve sold a number of paintings to parents from Los Angeles to Boston through my Etsy website. Linking up with an actual retailer was the next logical step, and StyleMyNursery’s custom approach prevents it from being too commercialized a venture.”
“Any business would be fortunate to have the opportunity to merchandise her talents,” says Nick Tarant, a member of the store’s holding company board of advisors and a childhood friend of Gaspar’s. “Big boxes do a sizeable business in the nursery wall décor category but you’re limited to their cookie-cutter inventory. The idea was to find a talent who can express a variety of design techniques in oil painting but to actually give mothers direct collaboration with a painter and the ability to execute their individual vision. Mary’s work always caught my eye since the days it was on display in our high school, and now that she’s a mom herself, she can probably express something more unique into each painting.”
“We just moved our family into a new home and I’m living the work of designing new rooms for both of our daughters,” adds Gaspar. “If you’re doing a ladybug theme versus sock monkeys, it can get very tedious trying to find the right mix and match. Then, when they get old enough to want a combination of the two – good luck!”
Customers who want to contact Mary directly for talking through concepts will have that option as well as through the sales team, according to StyleMyNursery. They can also type their design request into a dynamic field before ever placing the product into the cart. A prefixed selection of dropdown menu choices features everything from various animals and characters to motorcycles.
StyleMyNursery is offering several canvas sizes that begin with pricing under $40. Design-your-own lampshades are also for sale and the store plans to roll out other customized furnishings based on customer demand. Hundreds of varieties, thousands of combinations, and millions of nursery décor ideas and baby toys is StyleMyNursery.
