About The Author
Nick Westfall is a Physical Educator with Brunswick County Schools living in Holden Beach, North Carolina. As an extremely energetic and enthusiastic teacher, Westfall puts on various physically-active programs, including the SEARCH 5K – which has the motto he penned, "We can fight against childhood obesity for FREE, so the race is FREE..." Nick's passion for healthful living shares space with his ability to write.
"When you enjoy the completed project enough, then you make a point to find time. All of the time distractions like Facebook and T.V. become distanced by my desire to write. Not to mention how good I feel about myself afterwards...It's kind of like resisting the chocolate ice cream and going for a run instead!"
Although his college professor, Jacob Babb, was the first person to re-establish Westfall's love for reading, his stepmother, Polly Westfall, has been the biggest influence for his second passion. Westfall describes his adventure of novel writing as a multi-step order of revisions. "For this novel in particular, Polly has helped me let go of personal details that I didn’t want to get rid of originally. After many conversations and hair pulling, I know why she wanted me to change it. All in all, I am very proud of this novel and I can’t wait for people to get their hands on it!”
Westfall’s next novel is about a P.E. teacher (How convenient). He also writes short stories on his blog www.nickwestfall.blogspot.com. You can find him running along the sand of Holden Beach or speaking on one of his motivational speaking tours in North Carolina.
