AIA Tampa Bay is the Tampa Bay chapter of the American Institute of Architects. According to their website, the AIA is a professional association for architects and those in the architecture field that is dedicated to its members and the quality of the built environment in their communities. The AIA provides programs and services including educational programs, design competitions, community service programs and serves as the united voice of the architecture profession. The Tampa Bay chapter represents approximately 650 members in Hillsborough and surrounding counties. The Tres De Mayo Golf Tournament is an event set-up to unite local architects and the community and proceeds go to benefit the institute. Part of the event is the annual Architectural Putting Apparatus Design Competition. The AIA challenges contestants to design and build a functioning putter using anything other than typical golf equipment. This year’s winner will be awarded a brand new Odyssey putter.
