Boonton, NJ, May 06, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Boonton’s new boxing facility—Aces Boxing Club—has announced that they will be hosting a one-night amateur boxing show at the Elks Lodge on Friday, May 25, at 7 p.m. The fight card will consist of (8) amateur bouts featuring both Boonton boxers as well as other local talent.
This is the first amateur boxing event to be held in Boonton, and Aces Boxing Club is excited to introduce the exciting sport to the blue-collar town.
“Boonton is a very community-oriented town,” said Zabry, owner and head coach of Aces Boxing Club. “Everybody supports each other, especially the businesses here in town. And everybody in town seems like they have a strong sense of Boonton pride; I like the idea of Aces Boxing Club as Boonton’s best.”
Aces Boxing Club opened up in Boonton less than a month ago and has already received a very positive response within the town. In addition to offering competitive amateur and pro boxing programs, Aces Boxing runs an after school boxing program geared to keeping kids active and working toward something productive.
Zabry currently trains a handful of high school students from Boonton, Montville and other surrounding towns.
“We feel that an after school boxing program will provide these kids with a safe, sanctioned place to work out and learn the art of boxing, socialize and develop skills that will be useful throughout their lives,” said Zabry.
Aces Boxing Club has also announced that they plan on hosting an amateur show at the Boonton Elks Lodge every eight weeks to give local boxers a chance to work towards the Olympics or the pro level.
Aces Boxing Club specializes in one-on-one training for both beginners and experienced boxers, allowing individuals to train at their own level. They also offer group training, which allows individuals to learn from the trainer as well as other peers in the group.
The 3,000+ square foot boxing club offers the feel of an old school boxing gym coupled with the latest advancements in sports conditioning and training.
