Ruth Meric Joins Somebody’s Mother’s Chocolate Sauce, LLC

Houston, TX, May 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Somebody’s Mother’s Chocolate Sauce, LLC, a Houston-based manufacturer of dessert sauces, is pleased to announce that Ruth Meric has been named Director of Sales. Meric will oversee establishing the company’s wholesale division.

Meric is no stranger to the food industry, having owned and operated Ruth Meric Catering from 1998-2007, during which time the company was recognized as one of the top five caterers in Houston and Caterer of the Year by My Table magazine. Meric is also the founder, owner and designer of Party Perfect Software™, a Catering and Special Event Software copyrighted and patented in 1996. Meric was also co-founder of Charley T’s restaurant in Houston and was assistant manager of Brennan’s of Houston. She has been a consulting chef, recipe developer, food stylist and product tester for numerous projects in the Greater Houston area and nationally, including Chantal Cookware.

An active member of the Houston community, Meric served as 2010 chairman of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority’s Pilgrimage which raised a half million dollars for local charities. She served in leadership roles in the Houston Culinary Guild and is a member of the National Association of Catering Executives and the International Catering Association.

A graduate of Louisiana State University, Meric is a Certified Professional Catering Executive. Her education includes culinary training at the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation, University of Houston Hotel and Restaurant School and Jacques Pepin and Madeline Kamman Cooking Classes in Paris.

A native of New Orleans, Meric has made Houston her home since 1976.
