Deanna Lohnes Represents Parlance Media for the Second Year at New England GiveCamp
Parlance Media donated $600 worth of services to charity in a whirlwind weekend of long hours and late nights.
Cambridge, MA, May 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Deanna Lohnes, CEO and Founder of Parlance Media, a copywriting agency specializing in web copy for solo entrepreneurs, represented Parlance Media at the third annual New England GiveCamp this weekend.
GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where technology professionals – including designers, developers and database administrators as well as marketers and web strategists – donate their time and unique talents to provide software solutions for local charities and other non-profit organizations.
“Our team was up until 1:30 in the morning on Friday night researching Wordpress themes for our charity’s website,” Lohnes commented. “The lack of sleep is worth it when you’re doing good for your community. The late nights build rapport with your team,” she said laughing.
"We’ve been so blessed at Parlance Media. It’s important to us to give back to our community in a meaningful way,” Lohnes said. This is the second year Lohnes participated in New England GiveCamp. “This year we revamped a website for a group that provides mental health resources for at-risk children and adolescents. GiveCamp is an amazing opportunity to make contribution. There are so many people offering their services free of charge. It’s an inspiration.”
Lohnes volunteered for the second time this year. “I met so many amazing people last year. I was excited to come back. It’s a lot of work in a short time, but the organizers put a lot of effort into creating a fun, playful atmosphere. They put together a Cinco de Mayo party for us last night with a pinata and nacho bar.”
