First Lady LaShawn Thompson of World Overcomers Christian Church to Speak at Boston Church
Jubilee Christian Church to Welcome Local Pastor as Part of Its “Living Legends” Annual Women’s Conference May 9-13
Boston, MA, May 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Women ready for a powerful Ramah word from God are encouraged to hear Him speak through First Lady LaShawn Thompson of World Overcomers Christian Church (http://www.wocconline.org) during the 2012 “Living Legends” annual women’s conference at Jubilee Christian Church, 1500 Blue Hill Ave. Chosen, Jubilee’s women’s ministry, will welcome Thompson, along with other Proverbs 31 women, to its 20th annual conference Wednesday, May 9 through Sunday, May 13. This year, women can expect anointed ministry on how they can sow, prune, water and wait for their tree of life to flourish. Through her inspirational and uplifting message, Thompson will encourage women to free themselves of overweight luggage in order to elevate themselves into the living legends of their generation.
From her childhood in Atlanta and Boston, Thompson has personally witnessed God’s hand moving in her life. As First Lady of World Overcomers Christian Church in Durham, N.C., she also leads the church’s Next Level Woman ministry (http://www.nextlevelwoman.org), which encourages women to embrace life and become who God has called them to be. Consisting of Godly women with an interest in showing Christ's love through selflessly serving the local community, Next Level Woman raised funds for the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure® through its fashion exchange, “My Sister’s Closet,” in February. Responding to God’s call to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation,” Thompson also recently returned from her first international missions outreach in Limuru, Kenya where she led a 12 member contingent who assisted her in providing educational tools, personal care items and the sharing of life skills to middle school aged girls. The building of a library and repair of a defunct water supply system were also completed under her prayerful guidance.
First Lady Lashawn has been married to Pastor Andy Thompson, Senior Pastor of World Overcomers Christian Church for 20 years, they have four children and two adopted daughters.
