SIA Group Becomes First Small Business in N.C. to Enroll in Mediterranean Wellness Group Plan
Local Insurance Agency to Promote and Participate in Health Program Based on the French Don’t Diet Plan
Raleigh, NC, May 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Don Mills, president of SIA Group (http://www.siagroup.net), a full-service insurance agency with six offices throughout North Carolina, has announced that the firm has become the first small business in North Carolina to enroll its employees to participate in the Mediterranean Wellness group program created by Dr. Will Clower, award-winning author of The French Don’t Diet Plan and CEO of Mediterranean Wellness. The program, designed to teach participants the behaviors that lead to low weight, healthy hearts, and longer lives by emulating the Mediterranean diet, went into effect at SIA Group on April 2, with the firm paying all the costs for the employees. Emphasizing the importance of family for wellness, it also allows the spouses and children of workers to participate. In addition to its employees, SIA Group is offering the program to clients and all SIA of N.C. partners, emphasizing their commitment to promoting health and wellness. The program’s content help coach changes in nutrition, exercise, stress management and health screenings.
SIA Group will promote Clower’s program to its own partners and clients. The program introduces three innovations that make it affordable for smaller companies seeking to participate in a corporate wellness program.
· Pricing structure: Currently, the program is mostly utilized by large global clients. But a new, novel pricing structure with the SIA Group makes it affordable even to very small businesses.
· Delivery model: The program is delivered live, via webcast, making presentations personal, even when delivered across a wide geography.
· Content: This successful Mediterranean approach requires no menus, no counting, and allows the consumption of creams and cheeses and butters and breads and wines.
Clower will visit Jacksonville, N.C., where SIA Group is headquartered, on Thursday, May 3 and Friday, May 4, to meet with the firm’s employees and tour area grocery stores to provide tips on what foods to purchase and avoid as part of his program, as well as offer clarity and inspire confidence in making those healthy choices for themselves and their families. The Alabama-born neurophysiologist formed his program from his observations while living in France for two years and seeing how residents were less obese and in better shape than most average Americans, thanks to portion control and relying on foods not loaded with dyes or preservatives.
