Silent Auction Items Sought for Fundaiser Benefiting Local Newlywed Diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Red Hook, NY, May 10, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Imagine marrying the man of your dreams; to have the wedding that you have always pictured in your head. Then, seven months later to have everything crumble right around you. That’s the reality that Jessica McCann faces every day as she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma this past January. McCann, formally Van Ackooy, is a life-long resident of Red Hook, New York. She graduated from Red Hook High School in 2002 and went on to graduate from Columbia-Greene Community College. Then in June 2011 she married Frank McCann. What makes the McCanns' situation worse is that the newlyweds don’t have any insurance to pay for their increasing medical bills.

During her wedding planning process, McCann worked with wedding planner Danielle DeFreest who is again standing by her side in her time of need. DeFreest is organizing a fundraiser titled “Let’s Do It for Jessica”. It will be held on Sunday, June 3rd from 7-9 p.m. at The Flatiron Restaurant at 7488 South Broadway Red Hook, New York 12571. Admission is $65.00 per person which includes a buffet dinner and entertainment. A cash bar will be available all night. Next door at Every Little Detail, DeFreest’s wedding planning company, there will be a silent auction and photo booth.
