O’Dell Announces Breakthrough in Educating Developmentally Challenged

Jacob’s Ladder founding director Amy O’Dell announces a breakthrough in educating developmentally challenged children.

Roswell, GA, May 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Jacob’s Ladder founding director Amy O’Dell announces a breakthrough in educating developmentally challenged children. “We are seeing the rewards of an intensive program that combines hard, brain-based science with a delivery approach that focuses on a strong teacher-student relationship. Our students are defying the limitations imposed on them,” said O'Dell.

O’Dell’s announcement comes in the wake of the CDC’s recent release of Autism prevalence data, which finds that about 1 in 6 children in the U.S. had a developmental disability in 2006-2008 and 1 in 88 American children on the Autism spectrum, with 1 in 54 boys identified, marking a 23 percent increase since the CDC’s last report. According to the CDC, more children will be diagnosed with Autism in the U.S. this year than with childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes, and pediatric AIDS combined. ASD affects an estimated three million individuals in the U.S. and tens of millions worldwide. There is no established explanation for this continuing increase. Careful research shows that this increase is only partly explained by improved diagnosis and awareness.
