Hattons Support Action for Brain Injury Week 2012
St Helens, United Kingdom, May 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Staff from Hattons Solicitors recently raised £2231 by completing a gruelling Coast to Coast Bike Ride Challenge in aid of the Halton & St Helens branch of Headway – the brain injury association.
This charity was set up to give help and support to people affected by brain injury on both a national and local level.
This week Hattons are raising awareness for Action for Brain Injury Week 2012 which runs from 14-20 May. The aim of this event is to highlight the issues surrounding caring for someone with a brain injury while providing practical support to those who need help.
The Halton & St Helens branch of Headway is a local support group for people who suffer an acquired brain injury, their families and carers in the St Helens, Runcorn and Widnes areas. It is run by volunteers and offers friendship, advice and support for vulnerable and often isolated individuals and families. Chairperson Nigel Smith commented, “The monies that Hattons Solicitors have so generously raised for us will go a long way to improving the services and facilities we can offer to our group.”
Often when someone is faced with a serious or catastrophic injury it can be completely devastating not only affecting the life of the victim but also of the families and loved ones. The effects of these types of injuries can be heightened if the cause of the injury could have been prevented.
Solicitor Debbie Wainwright, who specialises in serious injury cases at Hattons commented, “We feel incredibly passionate at Hattons about helping the victims of serious and catastrophic injuries. In my experience I have seen firsthand the difference that help from charities such as Headway – the brain injury association, can make. I’m proud of the work that Hattons is doing to help such a great charity and hope that others will get involved to support charities like this.”
Hattons legal team has experience in helping the victims of serious injuries to get the compensation they deserve in often complicated cases. These types of injuries could include spinal injuries, head injuries, severe burns or scalds, loss of sight, amputations and brain injuries to name a few.
Legal advice and representation can be a huge help for victims and their families to take away some of the stress and uncertainty, helping to get compensation that can provide vital long term and specialist medical treatment, as well as provisions that will need to help them recover or live a life with their injuries.
