Go Au Pair Participates in the March of Dimes Walk for Babies
Salt Lake City, UT, May 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As one of its Family Day Events, Go Au Pair’s staff members, Host Families and Au Pairs participated in the March of Dimes Walk for Babies to support ongoing research and prevention of premature birth. Go Au Pair has participated in this event in previous years and it has always been a great opportunity to support a good cause and participate in a cultural activity.
As part of the Au Pair Program requirements, the Department of State encourages Au Pair agencies to give their exchange visitors and Host Families the opportunity to participate in activities to expand their cultural exchange.
Go Au Pair’s Local Area Representatives are required to hold at least two family day activities and six cultural events each year. This Family Day Event gave Go Au Pair employees, Host Families and Au Pairs an opportunity to get together for a positive experience outside the office. Host Families and Au Pairs not only got to meet and interact with the Go Au Pair staff, but were also introduced to other Host Families and Au Pairs in their area.
The event was a great success, a sentiment shared by Evelyn Alfaro, a current Au Pair from El Salvador: “I’m very happy because it was a great experience I could share with friends and other people from the Au Pair agency. I feel very happy with myself because I helped a very good cause in this occasion.”
In addition to being an enjoyable event, The March of Dimes Walk for Babies event was specifically selected by Go Au Pair because it greatly believes in the mission and goals of the organization. Go Au Pair helped raise money to support the organization’s important research and programs to help babies begin healthy lives, educate moms, and help newborns in intensive care centers.
“The entire cause is to support children, which are the primary business that we work with and support. We feel it is important to support events and charities like the March of Dimes because we are both working towards the well being of babies and children,” explained Tanna Wilson, Go Au Pair’s Managing Director.
Go Au Pair has an ongoing commitment to promote cultural awareness and give back to the community, especially when it helps increase the quality of families and children’s lives.
