Maiden Media Group Drives Social Media at Greater Philadelphia Walk + Run Against Hunger
Maiden Media Group, a leading digital experience agency in Philadelphia, today announced the success of its social media campaign last month for the 16th Annual Walk + Run Against Hunger.
Philadelphia, PA, May 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- “The event was a huge success,” said Ronna Bolante, Communications Manager at the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger. “We had over 4,000 people come out to help make a difference in their community. Maiden Media’s digital knowledge and enthusiasm for social media really helped drive participation. They not only promoted the event beforehand via Facebook and Twitter, but their team encouraged online involvement during the event as well.”
Maiden Media Group provided custom designs for the Coalition’s social networks in order to create a consistent theme for the event. In addition, their team developed an overall messaging strategy as well as dozens of unique tweets to reach out to individual small business, restaurants, and student organizations in the area.
Most notably, Maiden Media Group designed, developed, and executed a microsite which aggregated live photos, tweets, and check-ins from participants throughout the day. They acted as a street team, taking photos and distributing cards to attendees with information for viewing their social interactions on the microsite. The site was built to pull specific and relevant content from Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #fighthunger and display it in a unique and interactive way.
“The Walk + Run Against Hunger was the perfect combination of supporting our Philadelphia community and harnessing the power of social media,” said Janeane Tolomeo, Account Manager at Maiden Media Group. “The nature of the event really lent itself to our company’s support for digital and social strategies, so we enjoyed adding a philanthropic twist to the process.”
