The China Greentech Initiative Releases Latest Edition of The China Greentech Report
The China Greentech Report 2012 Highlights How China is Overcoming Challenges and Accelerating Greentech Growth
Beijing, China, May 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Today, the China Greentech Initiative (CGTI) released The China Greentech Report 2012, the third in the series of annual China Greentech Reports. The annual release of CGTI’s China Greentech Report is the culmination of each year’s collaborative research and development effort undertaken by CGTI’s Partner Program community of 100+ commercial and policy organizations. The China Greentech Report 2012 is available for free by downloading it at www.china-greentech.com/report.
“This year’s Report is being released at a time when China’s greentech markets are in the global spotlight more than ever before,” said CGTI Managing Director and Co-Founder Ellen Carberry. “There are many factors driving this – such as increased awareness of China’s environmental problems, and China’s growing global outbound investments and trade tension between China and the U.S. The China Greentech Report 2012 is the only resource that provides readers a complete view of what is really driving these developments, and how international businesses and governments can work together with China to accelerate the growth of greentech markets globally.”
The China Greentech Report series educates stakeholders across multiple markets about the state of China’s greentech markets, opportunities for accelerating market growth, and the importance of collaboration. The China Greentech Report 2009 was the first in the series, launched at the World Economic Forum in Dalian, followed by The China Greentech Report 2011, which was released at the Annual Summit of Green Companies in Qingdao, China.
Some of the highlights from The China Greentech Report 2012 include:
- Vast unconventional domestic gas reserves, including shale gas and coal-bed methane, could ease China’s gas shortfall, which is expected to grow nine-fold by 2015
- Private equity and venture capital investments in China’s private water sector increased from $US 50 million in 2010 to US$ 400 million in just the first four months of 2011
- Wind and solar farms costs have fallen dramatically: onshore wind farms in China can now be completed for around RMB 7000/kW and photovoltaic (PV) system costs have decreased from RMB 74,000/kW in 2007 to less than RMB 13,000/kW in late 2011 with costs continuing to drop
“China has shown remarkable resilience by maintaining its position as the world’s greentech leader despite continuing global economic volatility and slowing domestic growth,” said Gavin Chui, Greentech Leader of PwC China, CGTI Strategic Partner. “The findings of The China Greentech Report 2012 show that while the road ahead may be rocky, the long-term outlook remains positive. China’s greentech sectors continue to grow and to positively impact energy and the environment in both domestic and international markets.”
In addition to digging deeper into the highlights listed above, readers can download The China Greentech Report 2012 to understand:
