Basingstoke, United Kingdom, May 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On the 10th of May in a glittering ceremony for this year’s Re:locate awards, Global Mobility specialists HCR were presented with the highly prestigious Green Achievement award.
The Re:locate awards, coined the “Oscars of the relocation industry,” hosted at the Institute of Directors in London saw over 200 individuals from across the world of relocation and HR to celebrate success in the industry.
Broadcaster and travel presenter Adrian Mills was the celebrity host and guest speaker for the evening. Adrian joined with guests to enthusiastically celebrate their amazing success and good practice in this diverse field. Amusing and insightful in equal measure, his after-dinner speech was perfect for an occasion dedicated to celebrating achievement and innovation.
“This year saw a record number of entries, these awards have become the ultimate recognition of excellence in all aspects of relocation, both here in the UK and internationally,” Fiona Murchie, managing editor of Re:locate commented.
The Green Achievement award recognises excellence in environmental initiatives and practices, and by demonstrating its commitment to managing environmental impacts and its innovative ways of engaging customers on environmental issues, HCR was declared the winner.
HCR were commended by the judges for their constant progression and innovation; both within their famous Sustainable Relocation Promise and as the first relocation management company to become certified carbon neutral in the world. The judges commented further, stating that HCR shines in terms of how it is seeking to influence best environmental practice within the industry and through its supply chain, including requesting copies of suppliers’ environmental policies and practices.
HCR’s Special Projects Manager, George Dawes commented: “Winning the green achievement award was another huge step on our journey to greener relocation. The award is a true testimonial to our leadership in the global mobility arena, and should hopefully inspire others to do the same. We are the first relocation company to be certified carbon neutral, and winning this award is a huge achievement. We look to continue developing and innovating our green practices for many years to come.”
This is the second year in a row that HCR has won gold at the Re:locate Awards, after being named Relocation Service Provider of the Year in 2011.
