TouchSystems Integrates PulseIR with Sharp 47" Display
TouchSystems now offers a multi-touch solution in the Sharp Series of large-format displays.
Hutto, TX, May 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- TouchSystems is proud to announce that the Sharp 47” display is now available with PulseIR (infra red) touch technology. The technology holds promise for several markets, including interactive digital signage, education and training, and corporate communications.
PulseIR brings multi-touch capabilities to large-format displays. It is a rugged, yet beautifully simple technology comprised of infra red LEDs, a printed circuit board (PCB), and a single USB connector. The technology eliminates ghosting – false touches and gestures – and operates even under direct exposure to sunlight. It is reliable and durable; the touch technology works at peak performance without seeing a drift or degradation in it.
Carol Nordin, president of TouchSystems, says that PulseIR is an attractive technology both because of its multi-touch capabilities and its ability to create an immersive experience. She explains that a person interacting with a Sharp display at the local department store doesn’t simply push a button on the screen and watch the display come to life. The person plays a pivotal role in the experience. That person controls what happens and is, therefore, invested in the experience and purchasing decision.
The integration of PulseIR with the Sharp 47” display is a natural outgrowth of the display’s innate characteristics and appeal to the digital signage market. The display is designed for 24/7 operation and features a scheduler, an internal temperature sensor, and a Power on Delay function. The display also boasts a fan-less architecture, which limits noise and dust, and a slim bezel.
