Berkshire Montessori School Holds Annual Silent Auction Fundraiser
Montessori School of the Berkshires’ annual silent auction fundraiser, “Swingin’ Speakeasy Revival”, will be held at Shakespeare & Company's Bernstein Theatre in Lenox, MA on Saturday, May 19th from 7-10pm. Proceeds benefit the school's financial aid fund.
Lenox, MA, May 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Montessori School of the Berkshires’ annual silent auction fundraiser is looking to be the “cat’s pajamas” of events this month. Shakespeare & Company’s Bernstein Theatre will have its usual lobby transformed into a swanky scene straight out of the 20’s for the “Swingin’ Speakeasy Revival” on Saturday, May 19th. The event runs from 7-10pm and will feature the hot jazz sounds of The Lucky Five band.
A committee of parents has been busily soliciting sponsors and donations for the last few months and the evening promises to be an entertaining affair filled with wonderful items to bid on for all ages. Even the school’s students have been in on the action, creating functional works of art that will be auctioned off, including canvas bags, a birdbath, a room divider screen, and a chess set
Other auction items include autographed sports memorabilia, Disney World passes, tickets to theatres in the Berkshires and Boston, museum memberships, framed photographs and paintings, and handmade jewelry, to name but a few.
For those looking for exciting experiences, there is a scenic flight around the Berkshires, a private wine tasting, and gourmet cooking lessons just waiting for the highest bidder. One lucky guest will walk away with the New iPad, the prize of the $20-a-ticket raffle drawing to take place during the evening. And one lucky family will leave with a handmade quilt, made by students ages 6-12 who are in the Elementary Class.
No one will go home hungry. There are food baskets and restaurant auction items to suit every taste and budget, and Firefly of Lenox will provide a wonderful spread the night of the Auction. Although the night harkens back to the Prohibition Era, you will still be able to wet your whistle courtesy of Wandering Star Craft Brewery and Berkshire Mountain Distillers.
To purchase tickets, RSVP to www.berkshiremontessori.org/auction and click on “Tickets,” or call 413-637-3662 to make a reservation. Tickets are $25 each in advance, and $30 the night of the event.
Proceeds from the evening will go toward the financial aid fund at MSB. The Montessori School of the Berkshires, located in Lenox Dale, serves children from toddler-age through eighth grade.
