Bioo Scientific Releases Improved Kits for Directed Drug Delivery
Austin, TX, May 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- While it has been eleven years since the demonstration that sequence specific, small, synthetic, double stranded ribonucleic acids were shown to induce gene specific silencing in mammalian cells, delivery formulations that supply a metered dose of RNAi agent to the desired target site in a cost efficient fashion are still needed.
Bioo Scientific has made advances in this arena and is now releasing a more efficient, faster and lower cost conjugation kit for its targeted transport technology (the T3™-Max Conjugation Kit) and small peptide-based MyloAim™ and NeuroAim™ Transduction Reagents for the specific delivery to myloid lineage (including monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells of human, mouse, and rat origin) and neuronal cell types (including microglia and astrocytes). These target cells are both extremely difficult to penetrate; but now this problem has been cracked.
These kits were developed with the help of grant funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) which has awarded over $800,000 to Bioo Scientific to fund the development of these technologies which are all centered on the ability to deliver small RNA molecules to specific cell types. Bioo Scientific is thankful for the support of the federal agencies, such as the NSF, for funding research efforts with Small Business Initiative Grants. These grants are very important for small entities to build jobs and create new innovations and be competitive in the global economy.
