VisionPoint Marketing Begins Rebranding Initiative for Wake Technical Community College
Local Online Marketing Agency Partners with Institution to Convey the Economic Impact of North Carolina’s Second-Largest Community College System to the Public
Raleigh, NC, May 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Diane Kuehn, president and CEO of VisionPoint Marketing (http://visionpointmarketing.com), a Raleigh-based online marketing agency that provides strategic consulting, development and execution of online marketing solutions for higher education, has announced the official rebranding for Wake Technical Community College, North Carolina’s second-largest community college in the state with approximately 64,000 enrolled students. VisionPoint has partnered with the college to create a cohesive brand strategy that effectively communicates Wake Tech’s impact on the community. Among the goals of the rebrand are: differentiating Wake Tech from its competition (other community colleges as well as local four-year universities), strengthening its value and perceived image, conveying the breadth and depth of services offered by the college, reinforcing the college’s mission, vision and values, and building overall brand awareness.
Following a formal proposal to secure work with Wake Tech on the rebranding, which started in March, VisionPoint initiated a comprehensive research phase to determine the strategic direction for the college. Deliverables will include brand attributes (the basis for establishing the new identity for Wake Tech), key messaging points, a positioning statement (an internal document telling college leaders where the institution stands in comparison to its competition), a possible change to its current tagline of “College for the Real World,” visual marks (including a main overall logo and treatments for individual entities) and a style guide with tips and instructions on how to apply the branding properly and effectively. VisionPoint is scheduled to complete its rebranding work in August with a presentation of a transition plan to assist Wake Tech in unveiling the new brand to the public, which the college will be in charge of implementing.
One of the visual marks to be created by VisionPoint will be a logo celebrating the upcoming 50th anniversary of the establishment of Wake Tech. The school first opened its doors on October 7, 1963.
Quotes:
“Wake Tech is excited by the opportunity of building its brand that will accurately portray our impact on the community we serve,” said Laurie Clowers, associate vice president for communications at Wake Tech. “We look forward to collaborating with VisionPoint on this process.”
“We have established a relationship with Wake Tech that we value and appreciate, and we are pleased to further contribute to their advancement as an institution,” said Kuehn. “The college is a definite asset to Wake County, and our branding efforts are intended to relay that message to the Triangle community at large.”
