ima’s Leo O’Brian is Assistant Vice Chair of Orange County Chapter of ULI

Newport Beach, CA, May 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- ima’s Leo O’Brian is a part of the Orange County Chapter as Assistant Vice Chair of the Urban Land Institute Housing Initiative Council. The Urban Land Institute (www.uli.org) is a nonprofit education and research institute providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. ULI Orange County/Inland Empire is among the ten largest District Councils worldwide with 1,300 members.

The ULI Housing Initiative Council is described as a Council who support the providing of housing that meets the full range of necessities for people of all ages, incomes and stages of life as central to developing sustainable communities. The short-term and long-range goals of the Housing Initiative Council will be to analyze issues and policies affecting housing, study the effects of incentives, work to advance the production of the full spectrum of housing, and showcase best practices in both the public and private sectors.

Leo’s responsibilities include helping to organize the emphasis of the council and the sponsored events. He complements the group’s focus on community planning and design. His contribution to the council is enhanced by current community design experiences and integrating housing within successful community frameworks. Leo’s participation correlates with the ULI goals of bringing together leaders from the fields of real estate and land use policy to exchange best practices and to serve community needs; to explore issues of urbanization, capital formation, and sustainable development; to share knowledge through education; and to sustain a diverse global network of local practice and advisory efforts addressing current and future challenges.

Leo brings more than 25 years experience to ima leading the design efforts for award winning projects throughout the United States resulting in some of the most successful residential and retail projects. With his leadership, ima was selected as the Master Landscape Architect for the Irvine Company’s newest community Cypress Village.
